Job Description

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Afghanistan

The primary responsibility of the Emergency Medicine Specialist is to provide training and hands-on care which will upgrade the skills and knowledge of local counterparts in up-to-date emergency medical practices. The duration of the assignment is two months, with a possible extension (summer ’11).

The EM Specialist will work in the Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital alongside the existing medical staff to provide training in diagnosing and managing emergency patients in the WAK Hospital emergency wards, and Medical/Surgical ICUs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Board Certified Emergency Medicine, preferably with overseas experience
  • Knowledge of Dari, Urdu, Hindi an advantage
